Today's forecast for Asia-Pacific, Europe & Americas
Forecast for Today:
Today 10th July 2026 (0 UTC/GMT), the overall
daily M5+ probability in Asia- Pacific is high 41%. The lunar phase strength is
38% (medium) and PR>1 period less active, so that M4+ to med M5+ intensity
quakes are expected in Asia-Pacific today. Today is lunar day 3 and we are
PR>1 in Asia Pacific but PR<1 in Americas. The below forecasts are our
estimates for potential quakes today but actually only about 30% of these for
AP and AM may come out and less for EA (5%).
Asia-Pacific:
Philippines
Possible M5+ tomorrow morning 11th July for
Baguio. I have forecasts for 2am, 5am and 6am (PHT). There was M4.6 yesterday
at 2:33pm for which I had a forecast on the same hour. At the moment there is
not a particularly strong stress factor from recent quakes, but lunar effect is
medium-high (as yesterday). Also weather effect may contribute with softening
of fault zones where heavy rain has occurred.

Note, for each location:
QL0 – no forecast
specific imminent events
QL1 – possible
event within next 24 hours
QL1.1 – ditto
based on 1 (forecast) alarm, QL1.2 – based on 2 alarms, etc
QL2 – possible
(forecast) event within last/next 6 hours
QL2.1 – ditto
based on 1 alarm, QL2.2 – based on 2 alarms, etc
QL3 – possible
event within last/next 3 hours
QL3.1 – ditto
based on 1 alarm, QL3.2 – based on 2 alarms, etc
Alarms can
include number of forecasts in next 24 hours, etc
A/N – A= possible
event within next 24 or 6 to 3 hours following increased seismic activity and
or strong quake history, N=Not likely (<50%)
For
Asia-Pacific only, additional point score available
for regional stress and lunar effects- so
QL1.1.1, (one
alarm in next 24 hours and 1 point score for stress, lunar, etc) next 24 hrs
QL1.1.2, (one
alarm in next 24 hours and 2 points score for stress, lunar, etc) next 24 hrs
QL1.2.1, (two
alarms in next 24 hours and 1 point score for stress, lunar, etc) next 24 hrs
QL0.3, no
specific hourly forecast but 3 points score for stress, lunar etc
For
Asia-Pacific and America
QL4 – possible
event of stronger magnitude (M4.5+)
QL5 – possible
event of stronger magnitude (M5+)
QL6 – possible
stronger M6+ (the bonus point forecasts which include M7+ are spread throughout
each associated region – as the M7+ quakes have a more widespread effect)
QL7 – possible
stronger M7+
Please refer to
48 hr regional tables for hourly forecasts
